 Dear Raineri Mutual Water Company (RMWC) Members, 


The above button contains a link to the proposed agenda for the "next" RMWC  board meeting. We plan to reuse this document between each board  meeting, so you can bookmark this link if you would like to have easy  access to a link to see when we plan on having this meeting, and what is  on the agenda. 


The  RMWC Board normally meets on the first Monday of each Month at 7 PM,  but we will pick a different date if there are scheduling conflicts (and  we will be meeting on October 15 this month due to such conflicts) . We  will add a video conference link for the current meeting close to the  start of the meeting.

Election

 Board of Directors


  

The RMWC Board consists of  5 directors  + 2 alternate directors.—The term for sitting board members is 2 years


In order to avoid potential full turnover of members at each annual  meeting election,  we have set up to have 2 seats open on even years and 3 seats open on odd years.  In other words we alternate from 2 to 3, 3 to 2, etc.    


The election itself works such that :  If there are 4, 6 or even 10 candidates for the 2 open seats, the candidates who receive the 2 most votes will become members of the board, the next 2 top vote getters will be alternates who are effectively non-voting board members.  Should a board members resign of otherwise leave the board, one of the alternates will fill that slot.  [note similarly for years with 3 slots open.]


In the early formative years of RMWC’s existence the board met monthly because we had a lot on our plate to get organized and to make major decisions on the engineering/designing and construction of a filtration system mandated by the state regulators.  


However, in recent years the board has been meeting approximately every 2-3 months.   We do not have a meeting schedule etched in stone and since we don’t have a clubhouse or pavilion (like Chemeketa Park or Redwood Estates), we typically would meet at a different board members house depending on availability and convenience.   While many mutuals have dates & times for meetings set well in advance, we’ve been less formal and have typically determined if/when we feel a meeting is necessary, then the president will send out an email/text/call to the board members to find a mutually convenient date/time to set a meeting.    


Since Spring 2020’s advent of the pandemic, our meetings have been held via zoom; but we do hope that we’ll all feel comfortable meeting in person at some point in not too distant future.   Our meetings typically last between 1 & 2 hours, depending on how many issues need be addressed.
